Christmas

The house was a disaster because had an unexpected trip into Phoenix the evening before. I ended up coming down with the stomach flu, and was doing my best to even be there for opening presents. Andrew was sulking.. but Abby LOVED it! This was the first Christmas that she finally connected with the idea of unwrapping and gifts. Despite being sick it was fun to watch her. She came down before I was done wrapping presents (but i was pretty much done... the stockings were stuffed and ready and the room was pretty much ready... ) She saw it all and was stoked! she sat on her new bike, I had JUST finished putting together. She saw all the colour wonders and gifts and her eyes got big. Some how I was able to convince her to go back to sleep as it was 4:30 am. But even I had a hard time going back to sleep after seeing her reaction.

Over all christmas was great though. I spent most of it sleeping and being ignored by andrew. But that evening, we had our friends the Lawton's come over as well as the missionaries for dinner. I didn't want to cancel christmas dinner even though I was sick... So andrew picked up the house and I made dinner. The feast was tasty, the friends were warm, the missionaries had fun and I think they liked that I had a stocking all made up for them. I was still sick but not as bad and Andrew put aside his disappointment his disagreement with my dirty trick to enjoy having friends over.

Here's some pictures.

  1. Such a bummer to be sick on Christmas! Glad you pulled through and have pictures to remind you of the good times. Abby looks like she's loving it!
